Komida received its license to accept clients’ deposits and to develop a microcredit activity in 2009. Since then, Komida follows the “group lending” methodology, developed by the Grameen Bank, to finance and to support Indonesian women in precarious situations.
Komida with a gross loan profit of around EUR 97 million as of February 2021, is assigned with becoming the leader microfinance institution to support the poorest women in Indonesia and, has been certified in 2017 for Client Protection (SMART Campaign). The microfinance institution endeavors to raise awareness among microcredit’s beneficiaries, concerning economic and social issues of Indonesian’s society, in order to guide women coming from disadvantaged backgrounds on the way to empowerment.
