Credicampo has 13 branches and 170 employees in the eastern part of El Salvador, where it is also headquartered in San Miguel. The institution is strongly focused on the rural market; the MFI’s 21,000 customers consist mainly of agricultural producers and rural micro-entrepreneurs. The loan portfolio with an average loan volume of USD 1,700, is mainly divided between the agriculture (30%), residential construction (30%) and retail (14%) sectors.
Despite the still clear focus on the lending business, Credicampo has also been able to establish other products and services on the market in recent years. In addition to the formal channels for migrant remittances and savings options, which are important in a country of emigration like El Salvador, the institution now also offers leasing models, life insurance and mobile banking.
