The Agency for Finance in Kosovo (AFK) is a microfinance institution (MFI) established in 1999 by the Mercy Corps Small Business Promotion Program and is the fourth largest microfinance institution in the country with a market share of just under 19% while being the first MFI in Kosovo to be certified by SMART Campaign, a well-established benchmark for customer protection principles.
AFK’s loan portfolio amounts to around EUR 33 million, has 23 branches, 215 employees, and coveres more than 60% of the country. AFK offers technical support to its approximately 20,000 active customers in addition to financial services and has one of best internal ratings of the GLS Alternative Investments microfinance fund.
