Senior Portfolio Manager
Ralf Burmeister joined in the summer 2019 as portfolio manager for the GLS Microfinance fund. Starting his banking career in the almost classic way with a banking apprenticeship and a diploma in economics afterwards, Ralf took a role as a banking analyst in credit research, focussing on secured funding for banks as well as hybrid capital.
Learning the hard way after the Lehman shock, he broadened his scope also to include banking regulation as well as central bank policy and interventions in securities markets. After more than 10 years in credit research, he moved on to the investor side and became a fixed-income portfolio manager, specialized in the high credit segment of the market.
After having travelled to almost all European countries, his role at FS Impact Finance is now even more international. Ralf has a bank apprenticeship and a diploma in economics from University of Konstanz. Furthermore, he graduated as Certified International Investment Analyst CIIA.
In his spare time, Ralf keeps searching for the perfect Franconian beer and tries to convince his sons that books are way cooler than video games.
